Add Some British Flavour To Thanksgiving!

15 Nov 2016

The all-American holiday centred around feasting, football and family, lands on November 24th this year and traditionally kicks off the 'holiday season' in the United States.

Historically, Thanksgiving was a celebration of thanks after the Pilgrims’ first successful harvest. They invited the local Native Americans to a harvest feast after their successful growing season, which explains why the holiday is so heavily focused on food and the importance of friends and family coming together around the table.

The first thanksgiving occurred in 1621 and was a 3-day harvest feast so in the true spirt of things, we’ve selected a few of our food hampers to help your loved ones across the pond celebrate in style.

With over 30 hampers with delivery to the United States and prices from £43, (inclusive of tracked courier delivery!) we have carefully chosen a few of the finest quality hampers we believe are perfect gifts to send abroad this holiday.

Traditions are a big part of the Thanksgiving holiday, from popular parades and football games to pulling the Thanksgiving turkey wishbone, every family will have a different way of celebrating.

As Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, it’s no surprise that as a tradition many Americans attend church services to give God thanks and to count their blessings. Helping others less fortunate than themselves is another great tradition, from food drives, where volunteers help provide Thanksgiving meals to deprived families, to giving out food and gift baskets, to charitable donations, this is the most selfless and thoughtful aspect of Thanksgiving traditions.

The main Thanksgiving tradition has to be the Thanksgiving meal, so it won’t seem shocking that last year around 50 million turkeys were eaten on the day alone - except of course, the lucky Thanksgiving turkey that gets pardoned by the US president each year!

Our ever-popular traditional hampers are ideal for a tremendous Thanksgiving.

It consists of floats, marching bands, cheerleaders, dancers, celebrities and not forgetting the ever-famous giant character balloons, including Mickey Mouse, Popeye, Sonic the Hedgehog, Thomas the Tank Engine and Shrek! The parade lasts around three hours and concludes with the arrival of FathLuxury_Family_Sharing_Hamper_The_British_Hamper_Companyer Christmas as the show-stopper.
