Which Charities to Donate to This Christmas

21 Nov 2022 by Liz Tod

Christmas is the time when we think about those less fortunate and less able to celebrate, with more of us donating to charities during December.

This could be a direct charity donation for Christmas or a donation gift in someone else’s name.

Did you know - people gave £11.3bn to charity in the UK in 2020?!

Not too sure who to donate to this Christmas? Many charities run special appeals at Christmas.

Here’s a list of popular charities (there are HUNDREDS more – check out ‘Charity Choice, ‘Charity Aid Foundation’ or ‘Search the Charity Register’ at Gov.uk for details about the work they do) :

  • Sightsavers
Sightsavers is an international charity that works to prevent avoidable blindness and protects the sight of the world’s most vulnerable. It promotes equal opportunities for those with visual impairment and other disabilities.
