5 Ways To Celebrate The Jubilee With Your Team

10 May 2022 by Sophie White

Read time: 5 mins.

Why is this Jubilee so significant?

Because it marks 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, making her the longest serving British monarch in history.

Such a momentous occasion calls for celebration.

But how can you celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with your team? Here are our top 5 suggestions…

  1. Treat them to a Jubilee gift to enjoy at home

Did you know that a gigantic Platinum Jubilee Party will be taking place at Buckingham Palace?

If you’re a London based company, it’ll be difficult to attend the Platinum Party because each person needs to win a ticket through the Platinum Jubilee lottery.

But all is not lost!

Treat your colleagues to a Jubilee gift, such as English wine, artisan food or Jubilee decorations and let them enjoy it whilst watching the Jubilee on tv.

We’ve already helped many companies give each of their colleague a gift hamper ahead of the Jubilee. Full of British artisan produce; they make the ideal spectating treats.

Your team can tuck into the renowned artisan nibbles whilst watching the Platinum Party live at Buckingham Palace on the BBC.

The celebration with see stars re-enact some of the most memorable events of the last 70 years, alongside live music from British icons.

Surprise your staff with a celebratory British gift this jubilee.

  1. Enjoy a British picnic in the park with your team

The temperature is warming, and the parks are gearing up for an incredibly busy bank holiday weekend.

Keep ahead of the crowds and organise a company picnic in the park during the lead up to the bank holiday.

You’ll have plenty of space, good weather and it’s a great chance for you all to get involved in the Jubilee celebrations before everyone heads off on the bank holiday.

Prep some snacks at home, order from a local restaurant or get yourself some picnic hampers and head out to your local park.

Whether you treat the team to a Platinum Jubilee afternoon tea or some drinks and nibbles outside, it’s a great opportunity for you to show your appreciation for their hard work year round.

  1. Bake your colleagues a Platinum Jubilee pudding

Treat the team to some home-baked British treats ahead of the Jubilee.

Or go one step further – organise an afternoon tea party in the office! It’ll be a great way to bring in the Jubilee and bank holiday on a Wednesday afternoon.

And what’s more quintessentially British than an afternoon tea?

Don’t forget to bring in a Platinum Jubilee pudding, a special dessert created to mark this historical event.

The pudding was selected from a nationwide competition, with the winner announced on national television on May 12th as Jemma’s Lemon Swiss roll and Amaretti Trifle Pudding.

The recipe is available online for you to bake at home and bring in for the team to share.

Though if you’re not much of a baker, you can head to one of the many nationwide shops that will be stocking the winning pudding.

  1. Plant trees for the Jubilee

A great way for a company to get involved in the Jubilee whilst doing their bit for the environment.

Gather the team together and join The Queen’s Green Canopy’s UK wide tree planting project.

The initiative involves the creation of a network of 70 ancient woodlands whilst restoring greenery across the country.

Aiming to educate groups on how best to plant long-lasting trees, the project is encouraging businesses and local community groups to take part.

This is a great opportunity to get your team together whilst contributing to the greater good.

For more information about how and where to plant trees for the Jubilee visit the Queen’s Green Canopy website.

  1. Commemorate the occasion with a Platinum Jubilee coin

Treat the team to a Platinum Jubilee coin.

To coincide with the Platinum Jubilee celebration, The Royal Mint have launched a selection of commemorative platinum jubilee coins.

The Platinum Jubilee gifts include an uncirculated £5 coin designed by artist John Bergdahl, which features Her Majesty on horseback and an uncirculated 50p coin in a historic first.

This marks the first time a 50p coin has been issued by The Royal Mint to celebrate an event.

It features the Jubilee portrait of the Queen, with a graphical celebration by designers Osborne Ross on the reverse.

Each coin is presented alongside a booklet documenting remarkable moments from Her Majesty’s reign.

Feeling particularly flush? Go all out with a sovereign or half-sovereign set commemorating the Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee years. Prices start from £1,150.00.
